Tilly visits Dinosaurs in the Wild!

What better way to spend an afternoon than to travel back in time to the late cretaceous period 67 million years ago, and dodge living dinosaurs on the way to an underground scientific research laboratory. Earlier this year, Tilly did just that!

In the heart of London, in a plain building on the Greenwich Peninsular, sits one of the most important scientific inventions, a time machine, where our adventure began.

After a quick safety briefing, with Chronotex proudly quoting their almost perfect survival record, we were escorted to our time machine where we travelled 67 million years back to the past in just the blink of an eye.

Landing in the plains of the late cretaceous period, we were confronted by George the Triceratops, huge Alamosaurs, and angry Ankylosaurs on a short dinosaur safari on our way to Timebase 67, the scientific research station.

On an amazing tour through the the laboratory we met different scientists who showed us how they capture dinosaurs for study, baby dinosaurs and eggs in the hatchery, and an autopsy on an adult Pachycephalosaurus. We even got the chance to examine some dinosaur poo!

At the end of the tour we got the chance to spend some time in the observatory, coming face-to-face with living dinosaurs in their natural habitat. Wearing our special safety glasses, we watched Tyrannosaurs eat their lunch, Quetzalcoatlus fly around, and Dakotaraptors fight each other.

Travelling back in time is not without risk, and the dinosaurs were quick to remind us that they ruled the lands. Watch our video to find out how.

This was incredible! The dinosaurs were amazing! I was a little bit scared at some points but I had so much fun!

All in all we had an incredible afternoon at Dinosaurs in the Wild, it was an experience we will never forget.

Dinosaurs in the Wild is based in London until 2nd September, when it will move to a different location in the country.
